Music festivals are a lot of fun, period. You get to:

Whether it is known as the largest in the world or a new up and coming event, we are all gathered together for one reason only and it is for the music. Sure, there is the element of excitement if you will be camping on site or spend many hours planning what to wear each day too.
Whatever the reason may be, one thing’s for sure, it sure promises a lot of fun, unless you are not a fan of crowded places and loud music. Another important thing to know before attending a festival is the preparations, so make sure to book for the tickets, accommodations and flight ahead of the event.

1. Coachella
Dates: 12th – 14th April & 19th – 21st April 2019
Venue: Indio, California
Lineup: Childish Gambino, Tame Impala, Ariana Grande, Janelle Monae, 1975, Solange, Kid Cudi, Weezer, Billie Eilish, Khalid, Bad Bunny, H.E.R., BLACKPINK, Ella Mai and more.
About: Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival was founded by Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen in 1999, but it was only in 2012 that it is held as three-day weekends in April of the same lineup. The main stages for this festival are the Coachella Stage, Outdoor Theatre, Gobi Tent, Mojave Tent and Sahara Tent. Coachella was previously graced by major acts like Beyoncé, Radiohead, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Arcade Fire, Kanye West, The Weeknd and more. This festival is also famously known for the fashion of the attendees that becomes a huge element of the event and pop culture where you can camp out on the site as well!

2. Primavera Sound
Dates: 30th May – 1st June 2019
Venue: Barcelona, Spain
Lineup: Erykah Badu, Future, Interpol, FKA Twigs, Nas, Tame Impala, Cardi B, Janelle Monae, Robyn, Carly Rae Jepsen, Solange, J Balvin, James Blake, Kali Uchis, Pusha T and more.
About: The first Primavera Sound based in Barcelona is intended to be an urban festival with quality musical acts to independent musicians of all genres. This Primavera Sound festival that was first held in has been graced by great acts such as Portishead, Nine Inch Nails, Kendrick Lamar, Public Enemy, Wu-Tang Clan, The White Stripes, De La Soul, Pulp, Phoenix, New Order, Arcade Fire and many others. There will also be secret shows, visual art exhibitions, food and other great activities taking place across Barcelona on the festival weekend too.

3. EXIT Festival
Dates: 4th – 7th July 2019
Venue: Petrovaradin Fortress, Novi Sad, Serbia
Lineup: The Cure, Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Dimitri Vega & Like Mike, Boris Brejcha, Amelia Lens, Charlotte De Witte, Greta Van Fleet, Lost Frequencies, Peggy Gou, I Hate Models and more.
About: EXIT Festival has received major awards ever since they were established as one of the most exciting European music festivals. This summer festival held in Serbia was first held in the year 2000 as a student movement for democracy and freedom rights for Serbia and Balkana at the University Park. The events moved to the Petrovaradin fortress the next year after the Yugoslavia general election. This festival is famous for its social responsibility aspect, which had led them to all the success over the years.

4. Roskilde Festival
Dates: 29th June – 6th July 2019
Venue: Roskilde, Denmark
Lineup: The Cure, Travis Scott, Cardi B, MØ, Robyn, Bring Me the Horizon, Brockhampton, Christine and the Queens, Cypress Hill, Jon Hopkins, Jorja Smith, Jungle, Scarlet Pleasure and more.
About: This is the largest music and arts festival to be held in Northern Europe that was first established in 1971. Roskilde Festival was created by high school students Mogens Sandfær and Jesper Switzer Møller with promoter Carl Fischer. A year after the Danish music festival was founded, Roskilde Foundation took over and it became a non-profit organisation to support music, culture and humanism. By 2014, the foundation gave Roskilde Festival attendees the chance to vote for the organisation that they think should receive funds raised by the event.

5. Mad Cool Festival
Dates: 11th – 13th July 2019
Venue: Madrid, Spain
Lineup: Bon Iver, Vampire Weekend, Bonobo, The Cure, Vince Staples, The 1975, Robyn, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Nao, Mogwai, Years & Years, The National, H.E.R. and more.
About: This relatively new event that was first introduced in 2016 has become a major player when it comes to music festivals in Europe. Taking place at the Spanish capital city, this three-day event had attracted about 80,000 fans per day last year. Despite the few hiccups at the festival site last year, the organisers have made sure there will be a lot of changes for Mad Cool Festival to run as smoothly as possible especially with such an amazing line-up.

6. Tomorrowland
Dates: 19th – 21st July & 26th – 28th July 2019
Venue: Boom, Belgium
Lineup: Eric Prydz, Camelphat, Amelie Lens, Carl Cox, The Chainsmokers, Steve Aoki, Don Diablo, Dax J, Fjaak, Zeds Dead, Above & Beyonce, Martin Garrix, Marciano and more.
About: If you are an electronic dance music fan, you would know of this festival that was first established in 2005 in Belgium. Tomorrowland Festival is one of the most notable music events that happen over two weekends with tickets selling out within minutes. It has received awards from European Festivals Awards, DJ Magazine, International Dance Music Awards, UK Festival Awards and so much more for its extravagant stages, lightings, fireworks and other displays.

7. Fuji Rock Festival
Dates: 26th – 28th July 2019
Venue: Naeba Ski Resort, Japan
Lineup: The Chemical Brothers, The Cure, Sia, Death Cab for Cutie, Jason Mraz, James Blake, Martin Garrix, Thom Yorke Tomorrow's Modern Boxes, Daniel Caesar, Janelle Monae, Toro y Moi, Kaytranada and more.
About: This popular annual rock music festival is held in Japan’s Naeba Ski Resort by the Niigata Prefecture. First launched at the base of Mount Fuji in 1997, Fuji Rock Festival was then moved to Naeba Ski Resort since 1999 organised by Smash Japan with over 200 music acts from around the world. It is the largest outdoor music event in Japan and is known as the cleanest festival in the world as recycling is one of their main concerns.

8. Creamfields
Dates: 22nd – 25th August 2019
Venue: Daresbury, UK
Lineup: Above & Beyond, Annie Mac, Amelie Lens, Carl Cox, Chase and Status, The Chemical Brothers, deadmau5, Dillon Francis, Faithless, Fatboy Slim, Ferry Corsten, Martin Garrix, Paul Van Dyk, Pete Tong, Tiësto and more.
About: Founded by British club promoter Cream, this UK dance music festival takes place on August Bank Holiday weekend since it started in 1998 at Winchester before moving to Liverpool the next year before the current venue at Daresbury in Cheshire. Creamfields has become a four-day event with camping options that sees over 70,000 attendees per day. This UK dance music festival is seen as the largest in the world when it comes to attendance, stages and lineups.
