Strike the Right Chord: Walking Down Memory Lane with KEF and Hotel ICON

Located in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, Hotel ICON has partnered with KEF to complement its unforgettable views of Victoria Harbour with a wide range of the brand’s wireless Hi-Fi systems, for an unparalleled wireless sound experience curated exclusively for hotel guests.
From early October until 30 November 2020, Hotel ICON will be opening its doors to guests looking to take a trip down music memory lane. During this time, guests staying in the hotel’s three thematic pop-up suites will be transported on a short-haul, hi-fidelity sensory journey through the past and present of the greatest moments in music history.
To strike the right chord, guests can choose suites based on their favourite genres: Celebrate British Rock ‘n’ Roll legends in the Club 80 Harbour Suite, relive the golden era of the 80’s Cantopop scene in the Club 65 Studio Suite, or rest the night away with cool jazz in the Designer Suite by Vivienne Team, each fuelled entirely by KEF’s state-of-the-art speakers.
Each suite envelopes its guests in an immersive experience, with instantly recognisable décor, and a specially curated culinary and cocktail menu. Plus, guests can stream their favourite films on Netflix, or enjoy a Spotify playlist curated by renowned DJ, Dr. Wong Chi Chung, for a personalised in-room experience.
And of course, room guests get to enjoy these specially compiled experiences through an array of KEF’s premium loudspeakers, including Blade, Reference, LS50 Wireless II, LSX and Muo.
British Rock ‘n’ Roll in Full Swing
Inspired by a host of British music legends, John Lennon and David Bowie, the spacious Club 80 Harbour Suite showcases the very best of British pop culture. Featuring the legendary photos tribute to David Bowie and fascinating documents about The Beatles from the BBC Archives, this stylish space captures the eccentricity of two of the world’s most iconic artists. The homage is amplified with an in-room listening experience by KEF’s Blade Two, Muo and the newly launched LS50 Wireless II, which is the world’s first wireless speakers with Metamaterial Absorption Technology, providing guests with the opportunity to enjoy the clear, transparent sound that packs a punch.
Discover the Golden Era of Cantopop
Inside the Club 65 Studio Suite, guests can immerse themselves in one of the greatest periods in Hong Kong’s music history, the 1980s. Stacked with endless music-inspired décor and posters, and an inspiring vinyl and book collection, this suite offers its residents an auditory trip through time, touching a deep vein of nostalgia for most Hongkongers. For the guests new to the scene, KEF’s recently launched LS50 Wireless II, as well as the EGG Duo, LSX Soundwave Edition and Muo, are all on hand to tune into the greatest hits of the era, including Leslie Cheung, Anita Mui and beyond.
Celebrate the Jazz Age in Style
Celebrate the Jazz Age as Chet Baker and Miles Davis come back alive in Hotel ICON’s Designer Suite, created by world-renowned fashion designer Vivienne Tam. Inspired by the timeless appeal of the age’s greatest musicians, the suite is adorned with artwork, a breath-taking view and the sensational KEF Reference 1, which provides the soundtrack for a restful night in style in the bedroom. Elsewhere in the suite, the recently launched LS50 Wireless II is accompanied by the EGG Duo and Muo to ensure guests are never without the music they enjoy.
Feel the Magnificent Sound of Music
Outside the suites, guests can also feel the magnificent sound of music at the Above & Beyond Lounge. Located on the 28th floor, with a private bar and stunning panoramic views of Hong Kong, the Above & Beyond Lounge is equipped with the cutting-edge art of the possible – Blade Two, to feel the magnificent sound of music before returning to the musical journey in the hotel’s spacious rooms.
