Beyoncé never ceased to amaze fans all over the world every time she releases something. Her Netflix documentary titled ‘Homecoming’ has arrived, and it comes with a bonus surprise: a brand new Beyoncé album.
The artist managed to perfect a secret album drop in 2013, as well as with the releases of ‘Lemonade’ and ‘Everything Is Love’, her project with her husband. This time, Beyoncé does it again, piggybacking off the arrival of her own Netflix documentary ‘Homecoming’, also announcing live-album version of the same concert.
Both the film and the album feature her 2018 Coachella set, which celebrated black power and liberation, also marking the first time a black woman had headlined the festival. It also features live versions of her hits ‘Crazy In Love’ and ‘Drunk In Love’, as well as her reunion with Destiny’s Child.
The documentary, a Netflix exclusive billed as “a film by Beyoncé”, will feature footage from rehearsals, and her quieter backstage moments. And the album will highlight the power of the iconic Beychella set that the artist had put out, breaking the entire performance into 40 tracks, many of which are packed with multiple musical references and sections of other songs.
